How To Remove Water Stains From Kitchen Cabinets

After a few minutes you should have a very clean kitchen cabinet.
We had a small leak from the waterline to our fridge. An old timer before i became one taught me to strip what i could and then apply a coat of shellac. The lacquer turned out very uneven and i want to remove it and start over. The cabinets have solid bottoms so even when we remove the drawers.
Wipe off with a damp cloth. Let it dry and strip it out. Unfortunately we did not notice it until water began seeping out from underneath our kitchen cabinets. I hired a painter to stain my oak cabinets a darker stain not wanting to paint them.

In a small bowl mix equal parts vinegar and olive oil. Mix in enough dish soap to create a light amount of suds. The vinegar will help remove the stain while the olive oil acts as a furniture polish. You can also scrub with white toothpaste or rub with furniture wax.
Do one cabinet at a time or two or three doors. 7 if the stain remains rub a whitening toothpaste on to the stain and leave for 5 minutes before rubbing well. If you add too much you ll leave a sticky soap residue on the cabinets that will only serve to attract more grease and dirt in the future. You can also make your own kitchen degreaser if you have the proper ingredients.
Gently rub the greasy cabinet doors to get rid of the grease without scratching the wood. Use dishwashing gloves to remove the sponge and scrub the cabinets then attend to any remaining residue with paper towels. For stubborn stains add wood ash or baking soda as an abrasive and scrub lightly. Use a sponge brush to apply the stain.

I am going from originally honey oak to a dark walnut. Wipe it on liberally and immediately wipe it off with a dry cloth while the stain is still wet. Does anyone have recommendations for the best and safest process for removing lacquer. Add about one cup of white vinegar per gallon of water.
Make sure the microfiber cloth is damp.
